More than a Mine program started by Sokli Oy aims to transform the mineral deposit in Finnish Lapland into a leading R&D and demonstration platform for critical raw materials, Further, it will pilot next-generation mining and processing technologies and extending the value chain into high-demand areas such as EV battery chemicals and permanent magnets for wind turbines.

Key objectives
The R&D program and ecosystem started by Sokli Oy, with a budget of approx. €75 million, is co-funded by Business Finland and supported by Spinverse. It aims to create an active ecosystem during its five-year project period, bringing together partners from industry, start-ups, SMEs, universities and research institutions to tackle ambitious R&D challenges and co-create sustainable solutions and expertise within a dynamic More than a Mine innovation hub.
